Item Description
This extra large 40"x59" poster featuring Larry Kramer was designed by artist Rachel Wilkins and was featured at the 2023 memorial service for the late writer and public health champion at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. Included is a graphic print that reads "Silence=Death," which came to symbolize the early fight against the AIDS epidemic.
Pioneering playwright, author, producer and advocate Kramer is known for play The Normal Heart and is recognized as being a catalyst for the creation of the Gay Men's Health Crisis, now GMHC and ACT UP aka the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power. ACT UP is a direct action organization and GMHC a health service org which both focus on the lack of treatment and resources for people living with AIDS.
