Item Description

Try these two delicious syrahs:

St. Francis Syrah - Wild Oak Vineyard - 2018

A rustic bouquet of tanned leather and juicy black currant greets the nose of this intensely colored wine. Dark fruit flavors of plum and blackberry mingle with savory notes of star anise and freshly ground black peppercorn on the palate. The wine’s condensed structure loosens into a long, mineral-laced finish as subtle hints of maple elevate delicate tannins well-integrated with the fruit flavors.

Vintage Notes
2018 provided an ideal climate allowing time for the grapes to ripen to their optimum flavor structure. The year presented a fairly mild growing season with few heat spikes, inspiring winemakers to push harvest back a few weeks. This longer time on the vine was great for grapes and the mild temperatures kept the fruit from over-ripening. More than an inch of rain fell in early October in many locations, but there was little impact on the quality of the fruit. 2018 could be remembered as one of the longest and most desirable seasons in years, producing exceptional quality grapes throughout Sonoma County.

TOP Exert Syrah 2020

Huge fruit energy, blackberry, raspberry, milk chocolate, violets. It’s a smooth, beautiful water slide into the palate which is fruit and lots of sage and thyme and chaparral. Great wine. Unabashedly lovable.

TOP Winery Paso Robles - ABOUT: As children you may recall playing with a spinning top. What is known to be the oldest toy in history and typically for the impecunious is easily transformed through craftsmanship while keeping its simplicity in concept and design. Its intentions are to keep spinning steadily while maintaining balance within itself. Simple, yet complex and intriguing.
Our professional endeavors in making wine is no different. Transforming simple ingredients such as grapes and elevating it into a handcrafted elixir, creating a shared experience for open conversation and enjoyment.

We named our winery TOP, after this toy. It reminds us of what we want to achieve in our personal lives. Our pursuit to appreciate the simplicities of life, although in continuous motion - like a spinning top - we strive to maintain balance and enjoy the moment.

THE WINES: We produce Rhône varietal wines from highly acclaimed vineyards throughout California. Our focus is on Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Graciano, Roussanne, and Grenache Blanc, occasionally dabbling with other varieties that may fall into our hands. We make a total of eight different wines, most of which are blends.
Wines are released twice a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall. Most of our wines are allocated to wine club members and spoken for upon release. We do however hold a percentage of each release to host visitors in our tasting room. Please use the VISIT link in our home page to book a tasting experience with us.

Total Value: $160
