The Italian Cultural Foundation at Casa Belvedere was founded in 2009 with PRESERVATION at the core of its mission: To preserve and educate the public at large on all things authentically Italian. Also, to preserve the foundation owned, 1908 Roebling-Stirn mansion, and educate on its historical significance in early 20th century American history. In 2010, the Roebling-Stirn mansion turned Casa Belvedere was designated a NYC Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. For over a decade the organization has successfully executed a myriad of exceptional, mission-driven, public programs for both adults and children, establishing its place as a beacon of arts and culture: Language and Cooking classes; Art & Photo exhibits; Film Screenings; Outdoor Festivals; Live Concerts, Opera & Theatrical Performances; Nonnoâs Community Garden Program; âCulture Daysâ for group trips; Bocce Tournaments; Food & Wine Tastings; book signings; humanities lectures and more. As we near the completion of Casa Belvedereâs $6 million transformation, restoration and adaptive re-use as an arts and cultural center, additional public offerings will be added to our repertoire: gallery space for aspiring and established artists; art, music, dance, crochet, chess, sewing and other instruction; historic house tours; additional children and senior group activities, special events and more.
